		+	On this part of the site can be found information on the various ships available in the game. There are several different classes of ship, and several different types of each class. The classes are listed below, and below that are links to information about the ships of each legion.

		+	==Fighters==
		+	Fighters are the front-line combat craft of any legion. They tend to be fast, with better speed and shields than bombers. They are intended as dogfighting craft, and as such they get a small bonus to damage when attacking other ships, but get no points at all from attacking enemy bases and scan towers (although they will still do damage to these targets, albeit less than a bomber).

		+	==Bombers==
		+	Bombers are the mainstay of any successful legion. They are generally slower and less well shielded than fighters, but they have more powerful weapons (despite an overall slight reduction in stat points), and are designed for attacking enemy bases and scan towers. As such, they get a bonus to damage when attacking enemy bases, but get no bonus to damage (although they do still score) when dogfighting. Their improved weapons generally compensate for the lack of damage bonus when dogfighting, but their reduced speed and shield ratings mean that they are more vulnerable to enemy fire than fighters.

		+	==Repairships==
		+	Despite being unarmed, repairships form a vital component of any legion that wants to avoid crippling casualties when fighting a legion with comparable firepower (or in an enemy home sector). Repairships (as the name suggests) repair friendly craft rather than attacking enemies. Although it can be quite difficult to level up quickly with a low-level repairship (since they get no bonus points when there are no enemies in their sector, only points for damage repaired), high level repairers can score quickly and constantly, and are also the only ship class to be able to eventually collect a carrier, which is the most strategically vital ship in the game for any legion.

		+	==Cloakers==
		+	Cloakers are fighters with reduced statistics. They don't hit as hard as normal fighters, they don't survive a straight fight as well as normal fighters, and but for one thing they just wouldn't be as good as normal fighters. The one thing that makes up for it is the cloaking device. Cloakers may use all five of their moves in a given turn to cloak their ship. This means they are entirely invisible to all other ships in their sector, and while they cannot attack from under cloak they can still see all (non-cloaked) ships in the sector. This makes them invaluable for scouting when a legion has lost its scans, and also means that a squadron of them can mount a devastating surprise attack if given the opportunity. Cloaked ships can, however, be seen (and shot at) if an enemy gets a triple or free attack pickup in the same sector, meaning that ships cloaked in the middle of an enemy fleet still tend to die.

		+	==Auto-Repair Bombers==
		+	The auto-repair bomber is the same as a standard bomber, except that at the price of slightly reduced stats they will automatically repair themselves a small amount each turn if damaged. Whether this is a worthwhile price is down to individual preference, although it can often be quite useful for reducing the impact of things like PDS and asteroid damage.

		+	==Cruisers==
		+	The cruiser is the ultimate ship that most TVS combat pilots aspire to fly. With vastly superior stats, and the bonuses of both fighters and bombers (although no cloak, causing a few die-hard cloaker pilots to prefer to keep their cloaker), the cruiser is capable of easily destroying any lesser ship in a one-on-one dogfight. Obtained by acheiving a score of 75,000 points with a fighter or bomber, their one weakness is that their attacks occasionally seem to be slightly less than that of some high-attack level 5 ships, such as the microw fighter, but the hugely increased survivability provided by the cruiser (particularly over the high-attack fighters) means that it's still generally worth the trade.

		+	==Carriers==
		+	As mentioned above, the carrier is easily the most strategically significant ship in TVS. Obtained by acheiving a score of 75,000 points in a repairship, the carrier acts as a repairship version of the cruiser (right down to the slightly suspect attack, although in the case of a carrier it's a slightly reduced repairing ability when compared to a level 5 repairship, again compensated for by hugely increased survivability). The carrier's strategic importance lies in its ability to carry up to 25 ships of below cruiser class, with three moves being required for each ship to enter the carrier. This allows an entire fleet to ride comfortably within the carrier, repairing en-route to or from a battle if necessary, and being completely immune to direct fire from enemies or PDS. The one major disadvantage is that if a carrier is destroyed, so are all ships inside, meaning that carriers must be closely guarded and should not be used when there is no reason for a given pilot to do so.
