With the CW Ghost Armada clearly showing the potential of gravity weapons, experimenting Boraxian scientists finally developed a feasible combat device. Never ones to mess around, a ship was designed around it and field testing began immediately. Bulky and inefficient, the technology requires huge amounts of energy thus requiring a big ship (by Boraxian standards) to carry the required powerplant.
