16th Saints

The 16th Saints took its name from a (now disbanded) RAF squadron. Formed in beta 5 to take Krilgorian bombers, it was eventually designated as the main bomber squadron for the Krils of that beta. Since that legion had substantially the most superior fleet of that beta (despite not winning), the Saints eventually ended up with the formidable firepower of several cruisers.

Having performed so successfully in beta 5, VoxDei formed a new Saints squadron in the Ajaxian legion of beta 6. Although less spectacularly effective than in the previous game, the Saints nevertheless performed fairly well, given the performance of the beta 6 Ajaxians as a whole, with their pilots consistently being in the right place at least. Doesn't sound like much, but for that legion it was an acheivement. ;-)

Although the Saints have not been re-formed by Vox in recent games, it's always possible that if the inclination strikes the 16th Saints will return to attempt to recapture their beta 5 glory days.
