Black Sheep
Starting Game: Beta 2
Intended Role: General Purpose
Founding Pilot: Syrrah
The Black Sheep have been part of every game since the second beta, to my recollection. I started them on a whim one day after watching an episode of 'Baa Baa Black Sheep', and three hours later had ten Sheep in the squad. When the beta ended, I urged all members to start a Black Sheep Squadron of their own during the next Beta.
Since then, I've seen a flurry of Black Sheep ship logo's in every legion during every beta. Sometimes you'll see a squadron named after it's leader, such as 'Syrrah's Black Sheep'. We've been a rock-solid squadron, sometimes with two squadrons in a legion. We are a group of squadron-loyalists who aren't necessarily loyal to our legion, but have more of a mercenary feel about us. We fight for the Black Sheep. If the legion benefits from that, then that's good too.
Black Sheep squad leaders hold a loose grip on their members, understanding that most Black Sheep are rebellious and unpredictable. There is one rule among the Black Sheep, and that is 'Do not fire upon another Black Sheep (marked with logo) in another legion unless fired upon first.' This usually creates a lot of controversy among non-Black Sheep members as they feel the Black Sheep are not legion-loyal, which is true to some degree. But the good news for these legionettes is that the Black Sheep frequently break this lone rule, but will never tell any but other Sheep when this has occurred.
