Legion Commander

Every team needs a leader and in TVS this leader is known as the Legion Commander or "LC" for short. This person has the unenviable job of keeping the legion in order and arranging strategy.

The Legion Commander is voted in by all the other players. Once voting has started it lasts for 8 turns before the votes are tallied and the position assigned.

A Legion Commander may resign or decline their position at any time, thus beginning a new election period and allowing another player to be voted in.

Once you've been on a legion for 40 ticks, the option to vote "no confidence" in your Legion Commander becomes available on your Ship's Computer. If at the end of a tick a legion's confidence in its LC is below 80%, a new election will be initiated.

The Legion Commander has the ability to:-

  • Scan far away sectors to see who is currently there, who is hypering in and who is hypering out. An LC can see cloaked friendly ships but CANNOT see cloaked enemy ships. The LC can only scan sectors that contain a friendly pilot or decoy of a friendly pilot.
  • Message rival LC's (without knowing who the opposing side's LC is) so they can arrange treacherous acts and the general breaking of treaties!
  • Assign and manipulate squadrons and their members.
  • Post to a newsletter, available to all in the legion. It is completely up to the LC to decide what is appropriate to post.
  • Name a 2nd in command called the Viceroy. This pilot can scan sectors and post to the Legion newsletter in the same way as the LC. The rank of Viceroy can be passed along by both the LC and his new Viceroy.
  • Initiate the self destruct mechanism of their base which takes 4 turns to occur. Once the countdown has begun, pilots in the legion can vote to cancel it. If over 20% of the legion vote to cancel the self destruct, then it will stop.
