VoxDei started life as a Tibran at the beginning of beta 4C. He became (in)famous during that beta when, as Tib LC, he took the Tibs out of a three-way NAP which was on the point of destroying the Bors (who then went on to win the game). He was a Kril for beta 5, and after being mutinied out of office within two days after being elected initial LC, became Kril VC for a large part of the game and got his first cruiser. He was then VC of the ineffectual Ajax legion for a lot of beta 6, was part of the Bor legion which romped to victory in beta 7, and was a Kril in beta 8.

Vox started beta 9 as an Ajaxian, and on finding that the legion was quite good (and that nobody wanted to be LC), decided to have another go at leadership. He was Ajaxian LC for all but the first week of beta 9, and led the Ajax to a close second to the Krils (well, not that close in the end, but it was close for most of the beta and the Ajax were actually in front for a large part of the game). Then in beta 10 he was Kril once again, and was part of the legion which won the beta almost by default (despite being quite a good legion from the morale and team spirit point of view).
