Beta 6
Dates: April 2002 - August 2002
Winners: Tibrans
Best-Known Boraxian LC: scubasteve
Best-Known Tibran LCs: Shiid, Memphisbelle, Whykt
Best-Known Krilgorian LC:
Best-Known Ajaxian LC: Platao probably, but succumbed to infighting early and made no impact
Despite a bright start, the Ajaxians more or less imploded, and were eventually put out of their misery by the Bors. After that, despite having a huge lead the Bors were unable to capitalise and the Tibs successfully held off a NAP of them and the Krils for about two months. The Bor lead was eventually lost, but no legion could then gain dominance and the game was called on tick 1000, with the Tibs winning on points.

This was the first game to end in a draw. Originally & uniquely called "The Long Beta", though this name has also subsequently been applied to later games. Note that in these days long-range scans were lost if an LC was killed. Krills avoided this by swapping LC, Bors by being too big. But Tibs fought most of the war without LRS, winning the respect of their enemies & proving that adversity can indeed breed strength. The superior teamwork developed by scanless legions was to be demonstrated again & again, before the system changed.
